We are developing coffee-centric agroforestry systems in Nebbi District to reduce exposure to malaria and other infectious diseases, while our hydrogeological research guides well drilling that brings clean water to rural communities that have never had it.
We develop coffee-centric agroforestry that restores tree cover and funds clean water infrastructure. Our hydrology research tests whether restoring tree cover reduces the standing water where malaria-carrying mosquitoes breed. And our water resources engineering integrates hydrogeological data with remote sensing to characterize groundwater and guide our well drilling.
Our collaborators include startups like VitalLyfe and Acorn Genetics, nonprofits like Hope 4 Kids International, and research institutions including Duke University, MIT, and Makerere University.
