We are developing coffee-centric agroforestry systems in Nebbi District, Uganda to reduce exposure to malaria and other infectious diseases. Alongside this, our hydrogeological research characterizes groundwater availability to guide our well drilling that brings clean water to rural communities that have never had it.

We're a team of scientists, engineers, agronomists, and economists committed to alleviating the suffering of vulnerable people to improve their self-determination.

1. Agroforestry. We develop coffee-centric agroforestry systems in Nebbi District, reforesting degraded land to restore tree cover, improve rural livelihoods, and fund clean water infrastructure.
2. Hydrology research. We test whether restoring tree cover reduces the standing water where malaria-carrying mosquitoes breed, measuring how watersheds respond to reforestation.
3. Water resources engineering. We integrate hydrogeological data with remote sensing to characterize groundwater availability that informs our well drilling process.

We partner across sectors. Our collaborators include startups like Vital Lyfe and Acorn Genetics, nonprofits like Hope 4 Kids International, and research institutions including Duke University, MIT, the University of Toronto, and Makerere University.
